My New Blog

I was unsure what to blog about today as I had so many things rambling around in my head. Then, wham, I had a situation happen today that has happened many times before so I thought, PERFECT! Lets chat about the person that wants to sell their home and doesnt care about the market, trends, stats or even location of their home. Its simply that their house is just "better".

I met with a person that has a fairly unique home. Wonderful upgrades, additions, finishing touches galore. Add to that a fine plot of land and viola!, dollars galore.

Not so fast is what I am trying to convey. Location is important and the fact that the home is surrounded by less than desirable homes is also something to consider. The fact that surrounding homes in the area have also either expired or have sold for about $200,000 less than what the "seller to be" expects is another fact to hit home.

However, he/she is not the typical seller, I am told,  Having an intense attachment to the home gives it love but does not give clarity as to value. Ignoring the market and hard core comparables of sold and expired properties is a sure way to keep that beloved home in your family for a long time to come.

Decision time.....
