My New Blog

I mean "perfect storms" for buyers and the storms are conflicting eachother making buyers "sit on the fence".

With interest rates in the mid 4% range, high inventory of homes to choose and at very attractive prices; now is the time to purchase a home.

One would think...........

However,  with the State of NY, our largest employer, laying off 900 workers, unemployment in the Capital District being the highest its been in over 10 years ( according to my career counseling friend), and the mortgage interest tax deduction under debate; folks have been laying low wondering what 2011 will bring.

The Bush Tax Credits for the middle class were extended as of yesterday which is a plus for those anxious about what to expect for taxes ( who isn't anxious about that?), however, the confidence of the buyer seems to have wilted..

The bottom line is that although the market is slow, my ol' saying still holds true " Good homes, priced right sell fast..."

Regardless of what the "gloom and doomers" say... the market still exists. People are always getting married, divorced, downsizing, transfering in and out of the area so there will always be a "market."

So- its a matter of how you position your home in the market and that will determine if and when it sells.
